God
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and
his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God,
the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."
"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so
many sick people? Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither
suffering nor pain. I can't imagine loving a God
who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't
respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barb er finished his job and the customer left the
shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a
man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt.
The customer turned back and entered the barber shop
again and he said to the barber:
"You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surp rised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist
because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and
untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is, people do not come to me."
"Exactly!"- affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
What happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not
look for Him. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

i liked the fwd very much.
i feel pple who r inclined towards spirituality will definitely enjoy this and pple who can't relate to spirituality as yet might not appreciate it as much.
getting into scientific(physical) explanation of god is rather foolish when science itself quite inadequate basing itself on lots of assumptions, one of them being that 5 (for some 6) human senses can perceive everything, though atleast we(math) pple know an example that our senses are limited to a very insignificant level for eg. 3-d is the max we can see.
what say?

The barber was right but he was not clever enough to convince the customer. Because barber should have explained the difference between the physical existence of barber and non existence of God. Anyway its all about personal believe. Its something neither we can prove nor we can disprove about existence of God. What do u think?
Excerpts From Answers.com
An eighteenth-century German philosopher; one of the leading philosophers of modern times. His views are called the Critical Philosophy, and his three best-known works are Critique of Pure Reason, Critique of Practical Reason, and Critique of Judgment.
Kant was troubled because metaphysics had not arrived at acceptable answers on important concerns, particularly God (whether there is one), the soul (whether it lives on after death), and the world as a whole (whether people can act freely in the world, or whether its laws determine all their actions). He maintained that the first step in getting any answers in these areas was to investigate the limits of human understanding and reasoning; this investigation was what he called a critique.
Kant held that we cannot know a thing-in-itself as it is, but only as our mind constitutes it. He asserted that while no one can understand God, the soul, or the world in the way we understand things in nature, we must believe in God, in immortality, and in free will.
I am convinced about the existence of GOD(Great Originator and Destructor). But some time to "convince myself to a greater level" I ask question from myself and try to defy my belief in god, but at the end I always get success.
Everybody will have different images of god or better say concept, I have also and it keep changing with time as we encounter with new philosphy, experience and views.
Its very difficult for me to explain or describe god or prove of the existence the god. Only thing I want to say which(I think) is not difficult to digest for others is that "There are many things which exists beyond our personal perception, argument" so only bcoz we are not able to sense or prove doesn't mean that object, subject, percept, concept not exist.
Recently I read two books one(name forget) by Immunel Kant, and 2nd one The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho if you find somewhere read both are very nice and related with the god existence.
That's my view with time and environment constraint.
This is a good post. But many a times it's meaningless argument. All depends on the need and belief system.
The fact is that nothing exits for us if we don't want that.
God actually comes into existence in our mind and belief system when we becomes clueless, unanswered. He exists as savior and does the extraordinary planning and execution. When we are well informed it becomes a matter of science otherwise God.
