“In some countries, television and radio programs are carefully censored for offensive language and behavior. In other countries, there is little or no censorship.”

Analysis

TV and Radio programs must be carefully censored especially in today’s Satellite world, which makes TV and Radio programs available in every corner of the world. Its equally important in local context as programs may be sensitive to a particular religion or community or may be framed for some advantage e.g. political.

TV and Radio programs have affects, which may not be visible clearly in short span but over time it can affect substantially the culture of a country, behavior of individuals. Especially younger generations are more prone to these effects.

Censorship definitely to some extent ceases the freedom of expressing views and sensitive news presented through the TV and Radio programs. But on the other hand careful censorship provides a way to edit the programs, which may contains offensive language and behavior to a group of people or individual.

There are some recent TV programs, which created rift between two communities within and outside country. For example the recent “Big brother” TV program in UK created rift between white and non-white community and spread across Indian and European subcontinent.

If we can set up a process of careful censorship of TV and radio programs it will maximize the freedom of presenting views and minimize the offensive contents of the programs. In the process we must ascertain not to misuse the power of censorship in bringing the right and useful information to the society except the information, which may have negative or bad effects.

Conclusively the careful censorship of TV and radio programs will pave the way for creating the healthier society and hence strengthening the country.

Science may be on the threshold of greatly extending the human life span to 100 years or more. If all causes of biological aging are discovered and cured, people eventually may have an indefinite life span extending for many centuries.

Analysis

The statement that “Science may be on the threshold of greatly extending the human life span to 100 years or more” makes sense to me. As with the advancement of science especially the medical science human has controlled many epidemic, which in early used to claim thousands of life in a week or month time. Moreover with the new technology started playing its role in today’s world has given everybody better control on his health and better cure techniques, medicine.

The reasoning used in support of the above statement talks about the ultimate scenario, which at this moment seems impossible. It is a random assumption that “If all causes of biological aging are discovered and cured, people may have an indefinite life span extending for many centuries”. With the advancement of science not only problems are getting resolved but also new complicated problems, challenges are getting pop up, which has never been seen or encountered. These new problems or challenges force science to start from the beginning, and many time spending hundreds of years to resolve.

We can provide many valid supporting evidence for the argument that “Science may be on the threshold of greatly extending the human life span to 100 years or more”.

First of all the improved living styles, which provides healthier food, hygiene environment, loads of information available for maintaining the health and all this we got because of science.

Secondly with better medical equipments, technology, and high end research helped a lot in curing many diseases, which earlier was fatal. Day by day science is coming with better technology and precise instrument to handle the challenges.

Finally the strongest evidence we can get if we will compare the human life span of developed and developing countries. The life span of developing countries is smaller than that of developed countries and its only because of non availability of advance medical systems, and technology.

So with all above the it will be easier to state that science may be on the threshold of greatly extending the human life span to 100 years or more.

Certain schools of thought stress the value to the listener of having some practical experience of music. They suggest that even a rudimentary playing of the piano or some other instrument is better than reading a dozen of books about music. There are those, however, who claim that even many concert pianists have only a limited understanding of what music is.

Analysis

The given argument specifically in the context of music is not very contentious. I will support the argument that practical experience of music is better than learning music from books.

The practical experience will always be a better learning process than learning from books in almost all scenarios. Learning from books will give only knowledge about the music, melody and instrument. Music is something, which we feel from soul and mind, only thorough practicing in actual we will get the flavor of music.

If we draw analog between learning music and learning swimming my argument will get more strength. We can read dozen of books about “how to swim” and other swimming techniques but unless until we will not jump into water, we will never learn how to swim, will never understand how to apply the swimming techniques.

To support further, I would say that books about swimming or music or instruments must have been written by expert swimmers or musicians or instrumentalists, not by the person who has only theoretical knowledge of swimming or music or instruments. One can learn music by practicing first and then can evolve theories but other way round is not possible.

The best example one can get from the most popular music stars, instrumentalists who has the full authority about the music. Without any exception all has got their status by practicing the music, practicing the instrument not by reading the books day and night.

For all the above reasons I concur with the argument that even a rudimentary playing of the piano or some other instrument is better than reading a dozens of books.
